Ed Rubacha, a partner with the Firm, was the keynote speaker at Pearlman 2007, an annual surety seminar held on September 13, 2007 in Seattle, Washington. The topic at this year's seminar dealt with tribes and tribal entities from the surety's and the tribe's perspective. Mr. Rubacha is a nationally-known resource in the area of construction in Indian Country with tribes and tribal entities from the contractors' and sureties' side. Curtis Jennings Joins Board of Directors - 11/07/2006
Curtis A. Jennings was elected to a three year term on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Historical Foundation. The Arizona Historical Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose mission is the collection, preservation and dissemination of Arizona and Southwest history. The Foundation serves as a repository for primary source materials that, for the most part, document the history of the New Southwest (20th and 21st century) with emphasis on the fields of political, legal, and business history. Previously, Mr. Jennings has been involved in a number of community activities, including serving as chairman of sections and divisions of the United Way in past campaigns. Mr. Jennings has also served as a member of the Arizona Game and Fish Commission, the Arizona Archeological Advisory Commission, the Board of Governors of the Department of Mineral Resources, the Arizona Town Hall, Arizona Leadership Advisory Council, Arizona Bar Foundation, Arizona Court of Military Appeals, and the Board of Directors of the Central Arizona Chapter of the Arizona Historical Society.

Bill Haug wins VLP Attorney of the Month - 2/15/2006
During the "For Love of Justice" program held on February 15, 2006, William F. Haug was named one of the Attorneys of the Month by the Volunteer Lawyers Program. Mr. Haug began his 50th year of practice in August 2005 and was recognized for his creativity, enthusiasm and patience in handling difficult cases. Bill Haug not only offers his years of experience to ensure equal access to justice, during his tenure as President of the State Bar of Arizona, he initiated the adoption of IOLTA funding for legal services to the poor.

During the February 2006 Monthly Program, the Construction Section of the Arizona State Bar presented Bill Haug with a special Award of Recognition for his 50 years of exemplary service in the field of construction and surety law. Bill Haug is a past-president of the Arizona State Bar and a founding member of the Construction Section. Bill Haug began his 51st year of practice in August 2006. Mr. Haug continues with his full time practice, providing representation to all members of the construction and surety industry and serving as an arbitrator and mediator in complex construction disputes in Arizona, Nevada and the Southwest.

Gina E. Lubbers joined the Firm as an associate. Ms. Lubbers was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and received a B.F.A. in performing arts from the University of Minnesota (1996). Ms. Lubbers was awarded her J.D. from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois (2002). She practices in the areas of general and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Jennings, Haug & Cunningham, LLP, Ms. Lubbers served as a Deputy County Attorney for the Maricopa County Attorney’s office, where she prosecuted over 100 felony and misdemeanor cases in the Maricopa County Superior Court. Ms. Lubbers is a member of the Maricopa County Bar Association and the Arizona State Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in all of the state and federal courts of Arizona.

JH&C Wins Pro Bono Firm of the Year Award - 2/18/2005
Jennings, Haug & Cunningham, LLP, received the Volunteer Lawyers Program's (VLP) “2004 Medium Size Firm of the Year” award. Led by the examples of Bill Haug and Curtis A. Jennings, the attorneys of the Firm have demonstrated a strong commitment to pro bono service. When VLP inquired about doing a recruitment visit to see which attorneys were interested in volunteering, Bill Haug talked with all of the attorneys in the Firm and urged them to volunteer for a VLP case. As a result, during 2004, the Firm's attorneys worked on 15 cases for low-income VLP clients. They accepted 9 new cases that included very complex real estate and consumer litigation matters.
Hillary Gagnon Accepts Partnership Position - 1/1/2005
Hillary P. Gagnon accepted the position of partner with the Firm effective January 1, 2005. Ms. Gagnon joined the Firm as an associate attorney in 2000. She is a graduate of Wheaton College (B.A., cum laude, 1994) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D., cum laude 1997).
