Janis Bladine practices environmental law providing advice to clients regarding CERCLA/Superfund, WQARF, waste disposal (RCRA), wastewater, water quality, NEPA compliance, and environmental permits. She also has extensive experience in municipal law. Her environmental practice provides a practical, hands-on approach to advising clients. She offers a broad perspective gained from representing a variety of clients in both public and private domains, including regulators and regulated persons.

• Assisted a large international company in auditing its Arizona manufacturing facilities for environmental compliance.
• Defended a company before the City of Phoenix in wastewater-related show cause hearings and secured successful settlements.
• Provided regular legal advice on permit compliance matters and assisted in renewing, amending, and securing new permits including Aquifer Protection Permits, Water Reuse Permits, Dry Well Registrations, and local industrial user (pretreatment/wastewater) permits.
• Reviewed company policies to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws.
• Provided advice to clients regarding NEPA compliance and assisted in drafting NEPA-related documents.
• Assisted clients in responding to environmental compliance notices (i.e., notices of violation, warning letters, etc.) and developing strategies to return to compliance.
• Advised the City of Tempe in environmental, public records, open meeting law, employment, and election matters and defended Tempe in various litigation matters.
